It's not often that I find myself looking for chinese options in Hoboken during the week, but last night I did and I remembered this spot before a few weeks back and thought, "maybe I should give them a try one day". Well, that day was yesterday and I'm more than happy I decided too.

The spot itself is a classic hole in the wall chinese restaurant. An exemplary "no frills" spot, the place only has about 8 tables for seating. However, what they lack in sit down space they make up for on their EXTENSIVE menu. I think I took more than a minute to look over all they had but then gave up and just asked the woman behind the counter for a basic noodle dish with pork. Regardless, I'd definitely take a minute to look over their options before coming in. I can guarantee you'll be impressed.

When it came time to order I ended up going with their Lo Mein Noodle dish with Pork ($7.45). A basic dish with standard flavor. The pork was well prepared, but the noodles were a bit too oily. I didn't get a side of rice or vegetables but that would've been the appropriate thing to do given the consistency of the noodles. I'd recommend it if you're considering any of their lo mein dishes.

Overall a solid spot for takeout and probably a decent spot for dine in service as well. The turnaround time after I placed my order was impressively quick. You'll get your money's worth here and leave with that satisfied full feeling that's sure to have you considering taking a nap after your meal.

My go to takeout when I want American style Chinese food, the lunch menu is insanely cheap and good value, I usually order very simply chicken fried rice, Singapore noodles etc the hot sour soup is good too.
I have bought rice here as it's cheaper and easier than cooking, I think I was moving !!
Overall v good, best to have a menu and order by numbers as otherwise it can be challenging sometimes.
I have eaten in occasionally nice people a Hoboken institution shame they close earlyish.

Really good. I haven't food a Chinese spot I liked in Hoboken yet until I found Off the Wall. Nothing overly special, but very fresh, hot and quick service. Will be ordering from them regularly.

Came here for dinner with my brother...I guess more so to re-live a childhood experience/memories eating at this Chinese restaurant with our parents...as much as the horses are still on the wall, decor seems to be the same...needless to say...it's not the same!....food is okay...just not as it was...maybe I'm biting the bullet to expect the place to be as it was 14-16 years ago...new owner since those many years ago...the fried rice, and shrimp dumplings is as I remembered...egg fu young wasn't the same sauce as I remember....it used to be darker sauce, almost the color of oyster sauce....the seafood soup wasn't the same either..kind of tasteless..no pea-pod, mushrooms, etc, you get my drift lol....portions were a bit skimpy for a large....the half chicken was so small it fit in a small container...i'm almost cutting it for being nice enough to give it three stars...all the food was not brought out at once which I didn't like...it's not a staple of a restaurant as it once was...it's more like Chinese take out now a days living in the shadows of its glory days... if I was to score the food from 1 out of 10, ten being the best, the food here would be a 6.5...that's me being generous  lol

The food is so BLAND!!!! Save your money and go elsewhere. The woman was kind of rude too. Take these reviews seriously. I wish we would have read them before going. The food has no flavor. I added my own salt and pepper and it barely helped. Just don't waste your money or time.

Two stars because they are fast and the prices are low
